Grades

Final grades for this class will be determined according to the following criteria:
  • Test average
  • Lab assignments
  • Homework
In order to pass the course, you will need a test average of at least 60%. Higher averages will earn higher letter grades according to Brookdale's standard grading rubric.

In order to pass the class with a D or higher, ten (10) labs must be satisfactorily submitted. Students wishing to earn a B- or higher will need to complete an additional two (2) labs for a total of twelve (12) lab assignments. Students wishing to earn an A- or higher must complete one more lab for a total of thirteen (13) lab assignments.

A lab assignment is considered satisfactory if it
  1. Compiles
  2. Runs, and
  3. Generates correct output
I will be compiling your source code on my system and running it. If your code compiles successfully and produces the expected output when I test it with my own input, it is satisfactory. If your code is not satisfactory, I will tell you to make corrections and to resubmit your work.

Homework assignments will not receive a numeric grade but will be used to continuously evaluate student performance over the course of the semester. Good performance on homework will earn you extra credit. Poor homework will not.
